These nominees were selected in collaboration with partners from ministries, municipalities, national organizations and companies. The nominees have been extensively assessed in recent months on the basis of a number of selection criteria. The candidates, organisations, schools and companies were also personally checked by the jury.

The competing organisations, schools and companies are first tested against the following criteria:

After the nomination, people can directly vote for their favorite candidate, organization, school and company. A team of Status Holders Netherlands selects approximately 10 candidates per category from a group of nominees. These are invited for an interview based on the above criteria. Subsequently, Status Holders Netherlands, together with partners, will present a top 3 of the nominees to the jury. The jury will nominate 2 finalists from this selection. The jury members then jointly inspect and visit the candidates to better select them and to determine the winner.

The Status Holders Award is the annual prize for the Status Holder, organization, school and company that succeeds in adding something to the well-being of Status Holders in the Netherlands in a striking way. The Status Holders Award is an initiative of Status Holders Netherlands. It is the first time that the prize has been officially awarded. With the prize, Status Holders Netherlands wants to show that many organisations, schools and companies are actively engaged in providing good quality service to Status Holders from a social commitment and that many do so with great success.
