Information about municipalities

You can contact the municipality for all municipal matters such as civil affairs, applying for a new passport or driving license, but also for getting married or moving and much more.

Civic integration is a local process

As a councilor, do you stand for diverse talent, ambition and opportunities for new residents of your municipality? Then we would like to talk to you! Because an investment at the start yields the most for beneficiaries, the municipality and society as a whole. #StatusholderFriendly

Information about municipalities

  • Civil Affairs

It is your church's job to keep track of all these things. You can also come here for your passport, identity card and driver's license, but also if someone has died or a new baby needs to be notified. Below you will find a list of most civil matters. For more civil matters, we refer you to the website of your municipality:

  • Refugee Passport

Because you have a residence permit for a certain period of time, you can get a refugee passport. Just like a normal passport, this is valid in all countries except your country of origin. It is valid for a maximum of 5 years or depending on your length of stay. After the application, the passport must be collected within 3 months. This may only be done by the person who requested it.

  • Municipal tax remission

If you have a low income, you can ask the municipality whether you may be waived for municipal taxes. Do this together with your contact person at refugee work or make an appointment yourself with the municipality. To apply for a waiver, you must request a form from the municipality. For more information, visit the municipality's website.

  • To move house

When you move to your municipality, you can report this online on the municipality's website. You can do this up to 5 days after the actual move. If you move to another municipality or you are coming from another municipality today, you can also arrange this online.

  • We advise you

For more information about civil affairs, visit your municipality's website. See the link below! If you want to arrange something and still can't figure it out yourself, you can ask for help from us or from refugee work. For the costs and more information, go to the website of the relevant municipality. with your contact person at refugee work.
